HEY. Kind of going spare at the moment! Lils isn't acting right; she's excitable and sort of giggly and running around like a madwoman like she does when she's had too much to drink but she hasn't had anything to drink.
Anyone good with curses or jinxes? I've gone through our owl post but there's nothing that seems off. It's probably nothing but hi, we're the Potters, we're PARANOID, can't think why, etc etc and such.

I expect to read lots of sympathy, people, especially from those of you who claim to feel all deaths so equally. You know who I'm looking at.

Cora, Darby. I'm so sorry about your family. I can't imagine what it's like to lose three relatives like you did. I don't know either of you, not really, beyond what I've heard on the Wireless. But I'm so sorry that this happened, and I hope that justice is served quickly.
Rose, Oberon - I don't know either of you well either, but I've read about Oberon in the Prophet and I've seen Rose writing very sensibly about her career as a Healer. I'm so sorry that Rose's brother and sister-in-law are dead. That poor kid that was left behind. I'm so, so sorry.
This war has gone on ten years too long. And the people apologizing for it make me sick.

It's just-- we've moved so often already. And a house is a flat is a house is a parent's house is our house. It doesn't matter. It's a place. But Harry's getting old enough nearly to remember. Getting old enough to want to know why. And I don't know the why, but that's not acceptable, because he's just a little fat green-eyed happy lump with crazy hair and he deserves a real place to live. He deserves a house, or a flat, or something permanent. And GOD HELP ME I'm actually planning ahead to wonder what we're supposed to do when he gets old enough to want to go play outside without getting murdered? This war wasn't supposed to last this long. This war wasn't supposed to last. And here we are, moving into another place, because they think there's a SODDING LEAK and--
--and there can't be. There can't be. We're all good. We wouldn't bargain with Voldemort. Dumbledore would know.
So. So. I guess that's that. Happy smile. Forget about the scorch on the wall where Sirius exploded the afghan. Forget about the apple tree out back. Forget about the stair that squeaks. Forget about it being home. Think about being safe. Think about keeping your family safe.

How did it take such a dive? I went from hurting my face grinning about the Wolfsbane going so PERFECT to wanting to blast my way out of this place. Snape. I might've known. This has him written all over it, doesn't it? There's not anything pure anymore. There's not anything that can't get shat on by the thought that it's all some big sham by the Death Eaters.
Why didn't Lily think of it? Or did she and she just di No, she's not like that. Lily wouldn't hide it; she just didn't stop to think about anything but Remus's happiness. And that's--
--is that all I should be thinking about? How Remus looked this morning, smiling like I've never seen him smile? That's a damn big incentive to just pray that Snape's not in this for anything more than the academic challenge. But if I'd known about him from the start, I might've... It doesn't matter. Now I feel guilty and angry and bloody well beside the point in all this, but there's nothing to be done about it now but be happy for Remus and hope to MERLIN that this is all there is to this.
